About the Artist:

I have been going into the Big Bend country for almost 40 years. I first saw it in 1978. My first look at the Chihuahuan desert was the Burro Mesa and Chimneys area of Big Bend National Park. Since most of this desert is located in Mexico, Big Bend represents the largest protected portion of the Chihuahuan desert in the United States and is the reason I go to West Texas. In my opinion there is a beauty in the desert that is best seen in black and white images. This series of photographs covers only a very small section of the Big Bend country, it begins in Terlingua and ends at Santa Elena Canyon.

The Blanco River – photography by Jacob Croft Botter

We’re looking forward to showing these beautiful photos of our local river at Redbud Cafe. Jacob Botter’s photographs of the Blanco River are also featured in a book by the same name which will also be available. Be sure to stop by on Saturday, December 2nd from 5:00pm – 6:30 to meet the artists –  photographer Jacob Botter, and the author, Wes Ferguson. They will be signing books during this Meet-the-Artist opening at Redbud Cafe to kick off the opening of the show. Their book, The Blanco River, is currently available for purchase at Brieger Pottery. Botter’s photographs will also be available through Brieger Pottery for the duration of the show: December 2, 2017 through February, 2018.
