Wild Woman Weekend is April 8th-10th, 2016.
It all gets under way on Friday with a slate of events and the opening of the “chick” market on the grounds of the Old Blanco Courthouse, on the town square. Next comes the “Welcome” reception. Then, Friday evening you can spill out on the courthouse grounds to watch a movie-under-the-stars. The next morning, ladies will take over the town for all kinds of events . There will be kayaking, art sessions, a firearms class, birding, fishing classes, 5k Run/mimosa mosey, and luncheons. On Saturday evening we’ll finish with our big Casino Night, a chuck wagon dinner, and wine-and-chocolate event. All wild women can bid on amazing silent auction items. We have added some new events for 2016 such as archery, the “Magic Of Spices and Herbs”, pizza party, “Scent For A Wild Woman”. If you waited too long to register last year and were disappointed to find some of the events were sold out…don’t miss the chance to get in on some of our returning favorites such as the big music show with Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines, Casino Night, Sail Away Lunch, Women Gone Wine, etc.

ABOUT MAX BUTLER:
Over 40 years ago, on a whim, Max Butler took a night class in the basement pottery studio of El Centro College in Dallas, TX. It sparked a fascination with clay sent him to North Texas State University where he received a BFA in ceramics followed by an apprenticeship in France with master potter Jean Louis Gaudin. Max began his career working as a migrant potter in Texas, Oklahoma and Arizona doing piece work. He established his own studio in Bastrop, TX in 1991.
After years doing piece work, Max now enjoys focusing full time on his own vision in clay. Precision, speed, craftsmanship, and attention to detail, essential skills learned doing piecework, now serve him well. Working in terra cotta, Max concentrates primarily on open forms and vessels highlighted with his expressive brush decoration.
I am a potter, painter, teacher, musician, dad, husband and a heck of a nice guy when I want to be.
